FREE COURSES BY GOVERNMENT OF INDIA

SWAYAM stands for – Study Webs of Active–Learning for Young Aspiring Minds.

The Hon`ble President of India on 9th July 2017 launched the SWAYAM platform

This is a programme by Government of India which is designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz.
1. access
2.equity
3.quality

This portal takes the best teaching and learning resources to all by including learners from all walks of life.

The courses hosted at swayam portal are developed by the best minds of the country and can be accessed by anyone, anywhere at any time.

The courses have been designed by senior professors from the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) and the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), and are available free to students.

THEY ARE FREE OF COST.

TYPES OF COURSES COVERED

  • school couses

  • under-graduate courses

  • post-graduate courses

  • engineering courses

  • law courses

  • professional courses.

At present about 1550+ MOOCs courses are listed on SWAYAM of which 800+ courses are already delivered.

About 34 Lakhs students have enrolled in these courses.

  • Management

  • Language

  • Mathematics

  • Arts and Recreation

  • Commerce

  • General

  • Library

  • Education.

It is intended to host about 2000 courses and 80000 hours of learning material, within two years.

Courses delivered through SWAYAM are available free of cost to the learners.

Students wanting certifications need to register and shall be offered a certificate on successful completion of the course, with a little fee.

At the end of each course, students would also be assessed through proctored examination and the marks/grades secured in this exam could be transferred to the academic record of the students.
